Guide: Acquiring a Mount in Diablo 4
Feb-16-2024 PST
In Diablo 4, traversing different regions can be time-consuming. This is where obtaining a mount becomes highly advantageous, as it efficiently saves time when traveling long distances away from portals. This guide aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how to acquire a mount.
Understanding Mounts Mounts are equines that can be ridden across the game's world map. They serve the purpose of making travel significantly easier when navigating away from a portal. Mounts can be summoned in most locations, excluding dungeons, and they offer increased speed compared to traveling on foot. However, it's important to note that combat while mounted is not possible. A Dismounting Attack must be executed in order to leave the steed behind and engage in combat with adversaries.
Obtaining a Mount To acquire a mount, completion of the Donan's Favor quest in the beginning of Act 4 is necessary. Once this quest is finished, visit any stable and engage in a conversation with the Stable Master to claim your initial horse without any cost. If unsure about the location of the Stable Master, refer to the horse icon under Services when selecting a city on the map.
Upon encountering a Stable Master in a town, interact with them to access a separate menu. After receiving your first mount, you can utilize currency to modify its appearance and equip gear to enhance its attributes, such as speed and health. It's worth mentioning that additional horses can be purchased using currency, but these acquisitions are purely cosmetic.
Summoning a Mount Summoning a mount can be done at will. When dismounted, the horse disappears with a 10-second cooldown period before it can be called upon again. It's important to bear in mind that mounts cannot be summoned within dungeons or indoor venues, but they can be summoned in villages.
